About the scene:

This unusual rhino scene was inspired by the turmoil of feelings existing in those who love & work with rhino:

the massive and horrific threats facing rhino on the one hand, contrasted with the strong hope that lasting solutions to the current poaching crises can be found.

The word of Winston Churchill on 13 May 1940 seem relevant at this time:

But I take up my task with buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, come then, let us go forward together with our united strength.

I generated the scene by rendering a 3D computer modelled scene, using my 3D computer model black rhino morph with my run-cycle animation of the rhino, and 3D computer generation of lighting, and volumetric atmospheric effects. Software used: Carrara 8.5 Pro

A limited edition of only 5 prints are ever going to be available. 2 or 3 will be auctioned at special events with all profits to rhino conservation

THE PRINTS ARE LARGE FORMAT A0  (c. 118 x 80) or A1: (c.84 x 55 cm), printed with premium Archival quality ink on Archival Art quality 290g+ print paper.

About the scene:

“Night waiting

Hearts beating

Time standing”

Again this scene developed from a conflict of feelings about rhino.  On the one hand these are like  “battle rhino”, metal-skinned. One gets a sense of the strength, power and alertness of these animals who are effectively at war. On the other one can feel the reality of the great tension, fear and threat they face for their individual survival and that of their species.

The image was generated by rendering a 3D computer modelled scene, using my 3D computer model black rhino morphs, special texturing and 3D computer generated lighting effects. Software used: Bryce 7.1 Pro
